CHAPTER
The General
Membership of the Institute, except for the Honorary and Student
members, was organized into autonomous Chapters comprising of members
residing or having principal sites of business in the area to be
served by the Chapter. The Regular Chapters are formed for the purpose
of: fostering closer association among
members in an area or locality; encouraging the members to prepare
and discuss papers on the study of civil engineering problems in
that area or locality; and encouraging the cooperation with other
allied engineering, technical or scientific groups in the area or
locality in matters of common interest.
CREATION
OF REGULAR CHAPTER
Procedures for the creation of Regular
Chapters:
a) There must be a petition or request of at least twenty-one (21)
prospective Regular Members of the Chapter to be constituted;
b) The Committee on Chapter Affairs will study the petition for
the proposed Chapter; and
c) if the Committee finds that the proposed Chapter conforms to
all the requirements, the National Board of Directors will issue
a charter for the Chapter. The Charter issued will remain established
until it is revoked, revised or amended by the National Board of
Directors |
